You choose whether to connect a bank. Forecast receives bank data only after you authorize the connection through Plaid.
Information we collect
Forecast may collect account information you provide, including first name, last name, email address, mobile number, date of birth, password hash, and password reset or verification metadata. Forecast does not intentionally store plain text passwords.
Forecast may collect bank connection data you authorize through Plaid, including institution name, account summaries, balances, transaction names, dates, amounts, categories, and bank connection tokens.
Forecast may also store planner data you enter, including manual transactions, pay periods, bills, dues, receivables, budgets, transaction rules, profile settings, and app settings.
How bank sync works
Forecast uses Plaid for bank connection features. Forecast receives financial account and transaction data only after you authorize the connection. Forecast does not receive or store your bank username or password.
You can still use manual mode without linking a bank. Manual mode lets you add paydays, bills, dues, budgets, and transactions yourself.
How we use information
We use information to provide account creation, login, password reset, bank sync, balances, transactions, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, support, security, debugging, and legal compliance.
- To calculate safe-to-spend and projected balances.
- To sync transactions and balances after you connect a bank.
- To help you track bills, subscriptions, dues, paydays, and budgets.
- To respond to support requests and product feedback.
How we share information
We may share information with Plaid, hosting providers, infrastructure providers, support providers, and legal authorities when required. We do not sell personal information and do not share information for third-party advertising.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS in production, restricted secret handling, and encryption at rest for backend app storage. Stored app data is encrypted before being written to the backend storage layer.
Your choices
- You can use manual mode before connecting a bank.
- You can disconnect bank sync in the app.
- You can request deletion of app data.
- You should avoid sending sensitive secrets in support messages.
Data retention and deletion
We keep app data while your bank connection or app data remains active. You can request deletion at /delete-data.html or through the contact page.
Children
Forecast is not intended for children under 13.
